I support creative business owners in accomplishing their design dreams.
Cookies and cakes and pies, oh my – this Showit website for food photographer Danielle Rodgers has it all! Just scroll the homepage alone and you’ll instantly be inspired to go bake something delicious. Danielle’s brand, French Vanilla, started as a macaroon bakery in 2021 and has evolved into a flourishing food photography and content creation business. I worked with Danielle to design elevated brand visuals and a website that reflects all that French Vanilla currently offers for food brands and busy bakers.
We started the design process with branding. Danielle already had such a clear vision for the vibe of French Vanilla. Her light and airy photography aesthetic and elegant but approachable social media presence served as the inspiration for her brand designs.
As her business name suggests, Danielle also has a love for all things French! There are touches of French influence throughout the new branding, like the dusty blue and Parisian script.
Danielle switched from Wix to Showit for her new website! I exclusively design websites on Showit because I love that it offers creative freedom while still being easy for my clients to edit. (Plus, Showit integrates with WordPress for blogging power!)
We used my Vanilla Bean Showit template as a starting point for the French Vanilla website (Danielle opted for my template customization package). I love how unique Danielle’s website looks with her branding and content applied – you truly can’t tell that we started with a template!
One of Danielle’s main goals for the website was to emphasize that she is primarily a food photographer, not a blogger. She shares recipes on her blog and Instagram, but mainly works with brands through her photography and content creation services.
Showcasing her beautiful photos in a variety of ways throughout the website helped with this, and we also included Portfolio and Services pages that are intentionally designed to invite potential clients to explore all that French Vanilla has to offer.
It was truly an honor to work with Danielle for this project. Here’s what she shared about her experience:
“I knew I’d get a beautiful website just based on Maya’s templates alone, but all of her thoughtful touches made this process so seamless and enjoyable. Maya has been so helpful and accommodating every step of the way. From the branding colors and logo design to the creative touches on the website, she’s done a beautiful job capturing my vision and bringing it to life.
My favorite part about working together has been knowing that I can trust Maya with my business vision – something that I hold dear to my heart.”
I can’t wait to help more food content creators accomplish their design dreams! If you are interested in creating a brand and website that helps you grow, explore my Services.
