Showit Template Customization for a Bright and Joyful Therapist

Therapists choose the courageous job of walking alongside others on their path to healing. Kamili Wade-Reescano owns this calling with joy and passion. As a marriage and family therapist, she helps clients in Houston, TX “heal from generational trauma, providing representation in the therapeutic space and creating lasting change,” (as she explains on her website). I am so proud of all that Kamili has overcome to pursue her goal of being a therapist, and the impact that she is already having on her community. It was my honor to design Kamili’s first branding and website!

Brand Design for Kamili Wade-Reescano, Marriage and Family Therapist

Kamili decided to go with my template customization + branding package. The custom branding portion includes color and font palettes, a primary logo, and a secondary logo. I’ll talk more about template customization in a bit, but for now let’s talk branding!

Kamili wanted her brand to communicate growth, healing, and positivity. She also has a bold and bright personality, and it was important for her to have branding that “feels like her.” I chose elegant, modern fonts, and created a stylish “K” logo mark that communicates growth with the inclusion of the leaf. The bright color palette brings in some bold positivity!

Kamili’s official business name is “HIMPACT PLLC,” but we decided to go with her name and title for her logos to avoid confusion about who she is and what she offers. The significance of her business name is brought in through her tagline design. HIMPACT is an acronym for “Helping Individuals Move Past All Challenges Together.”

For Kamili’s website, we customized a Showit template instead of starting from scratch (aka custom design).

HOW TEMPLATE CUSTOMIZATION WORKS

I design websites using the Showit website builder. I love using the Showit because it allows for creative freedom, and is easy for my clients to edit moving forward!

Showit templates are a great option for newer business owners with smaller budgets, or anyone who wants to launch a website quickly! Even if you have a larger budget, I usually recommend not spending thousands on your first-ever website for your business, because things will change so much in those first few years. So I think it’s wise that Kamili went the template route!

Showit is easy to learn, so some people choose to purchase a template and customize it themselves. However, having a designer customize the template for you is convenient and having a designer’s eye on the site is valuable, so that’s why my template customization services exist!

Kamili chose the Holly Grace Showit website template from fellow designer Jessica Gringrich’s template shop. We loved the layout of template, and Jessica’s use of bright colors and bold fonts went with the vibe that Kamili was going for! We ended up changing out the colors and fonts to match Kamili’s new branding, but this style of website definitely served as some initial inspiration. Once I used her new branding and content to customize the template, we came up with a website that’s just as unique as Kamili and her business!
